Description

Classic UV Finish UV Curable Coatings can be described as being like a loaded gun, i.e. nothing will happen until the trigger is pulled and initiates an explosive response. The high intensity UV energy produced by the UV Curing Machine is the trigger that converts the liquid coating to a solid in a fraction of a second. This cure process causes the wet film to shrink as it solidifies. The shrinkage varies according to formulation but is an important consideration for establishing the minimum spread rate that determines film thickness. A wet film of more than 3 Mils is likely to leave visible marks as a result of curing the film with multiple passes of the UV Curing Machine.
