Rotors

Air inlet and Outlet

Once the rotors are in motion, air is sucked in through the inlet at the front, which then, proceeds to enter the housing. Using cooling fins, the air is cooled down, during this process. At the other far end, is the outlet where the cooler, compressed air, is discharged.

Helical gears

Right in the middle of the pulley and rotary vanes, are two helical gears that rotate in a paralleled motion, to drive the second rotor.

Unlike spur gears that run on a straight line, the teeth of these helical gears rotate at a certain angle, slightly deviant from the axis. This angle is what we call the helix angle and is the reason for naming them, the helical gears.
